Weight Loss - Weight Loss 2009 Review

A weight loss book review - Weight Loss 2009.

It can be really frustrating when your weight steadily increases over the years. A holiday with a good amount of exercise can help to reduce weight for a while, but a return to normality sees it increasing again.

Even if we think we are living a reasonably healthy life with some exercise and taking some care with the food we eat, life has a tendency of catching up on us. How do we get out of this problem?

In our case we got fed up and took the fairly drastic step of stopping shopping at supermarkets. This was to have greater control over the food quality available to us, by shopping at healthier food outlets and reading labels for the content. And we focused on "keeping things simple" and eating real whole food, avoiding hidden sugars, saturated fats and sodium, etc. I lost about 30 lbs over 3 months (15%) and returned to my healthy weight BMI of 24.

We still went out to the occasional restaurant and as it was early summer, we walked for 30 to 40 minutes to get there. We did not make any big effort to get exercise, but as we were shopping at a number of small shops, we got into the habit of parking the car centrally and walking to each of them. Small changes like this can bring quite big benefits. If you live near a city that is safe to walk around, you can walk quite far and enjoy the scenery at the same time. In my case "food quality" was the key to unlocking the door. Things are not always the way they may seem!

This leads up to a review of Weight Loss 2009, which is about eating correctly to achieve a healthy natural weight loss and exercising to a level that is suitable for you. The intention is to put in place a healthy eating and exercise level that you can maintain long term and therefore enjoy long term benefits.

It covers the various diets, fad diets and the yo-yo effect. It discusses health issues related to being overweight and why we become over weight. Calories and their effect are explained in detail. The good and bad fats are explained and listed as are simple and complex carbohydrates. Exercise is covered in detail so that you can learn what you need to do to achieve your goals.

The intention of this book is to explain what you need to do and how to do it to achieve the weight loss goals you set for yourself. It shows how you can do this to lose weight and then maintain that level on a long term basis. It recommends eating a balanced diet from all the food groups and finding an exercise level to suit your circumstances.

It does what it says on the cover! Weight Loss 2009 is recommended to help you set in place once and for all a healthy eating plan to manage your weight loss.
