Acid Reflux - Do You Have a Burning Desire to Get Rid of it Forever?

Acid Reflux

Acid Reflux is a problem that many people live with that causes them great discomfort. They often rely on a bevy of medications to help them. The problem is that this is only a band aid solution and does not address the cause or stop other damaging effects to the system. Do you take Tums, Reglan, Pepcid, Zantac, Tagamet, Protonix, or Nexium? These assist in providing relief for the problem, but do not address the root cause. One of the reasons that people get Acid Reflux is due to a weakening of the Lower Oesophageal Sphincter, which is a muscular barrier with the purpose of stopping the contents of your stomach from entering your oesophagus.

Acid Reflux

In our modern life, we consume a huge amount of acid forming foods and drinks that cause many problems in our body. Acid Reflux, Heartburn and GERD are problems caused when acid escapes our stomach up into our oesophagus. Many of these medications are designed to reduce acid in our stomach, sounds good right? Except that acid digestive enzymes in our stomach are natural and that is how we digest our food. Once your stomach senses that these drugs have reduced the acid the reaction is to add more acid so it can do its job of digesting food. All this acid then rises and then enters your oesophagus. If this just keeps happening, it will damage your oesophagus and lead to more health problems.

If we address what we consume and get pH balance back in our systems, our bodies will heal themselves. Most fruits are alkaline but the problem is we should not combine them with other foods. You should wait three hours after eating other foods before eating fruit and wait 1/2 an hour after eating fruit before consuming other foods. If you do combine fruit with other foods then acid will form in your system, not the desired alkaline effect. This is one example of how to reduce acidity in our systems.
